Food Styling Photoshoot

The Project:
In RRC Polytech's Visual Storytelling course, we got placed into groups of three. We had to pick a mystery box from a pile to photograph and make the item look good. My group got Biskwi Tartlets which are jelly filled and chocolate filled cookies.

The Solution:
We picked props that would enhance the cookies like a pink cookbook, flowers, and icing sugar. We picked a spacious location to get the different angles of the cookies. We used different serving plates for each shot including placing the cookie on the book. The pink from the cover enhances the strawberry jelly on the cookie. The group switched roles doing the lighting, styling, and taking the photos.

The Result:
There was six groups and each collection of photographs were judged by the Public Relations class. The photographs were judged on the lighting, angles, and making the food look good. Our photographs of the cookies won first place in the class.
